A normal weekend day in my life equals treats, treats and more treats. In the past I would eat very healthy and treat free during the week and then go on a major sugar binge on the weekend. I would end up so sick by the time Monday came around. It would take all week of me eating healthy just to make up for the weekend. Well I am proud to say that the weekend binges have come to a stop!!!! I have just made it through Friday and Saturday with out a single treat.
This weekend has not been with out temptation either. Friday ,I stopped at Paradise Cafe, home of the most amazing cookies in the world!!! I bought one dozen cookies for Aaron and the girls to share. I am proud to say that I did not eat, smell or evan lick a single one of these melt in your mouth cookies. Saturday night I went with my mom and sisters to See's Candies. The sweet smell of chocolate hits your senses the moment the door to the store opens. While entering we were immediately invited to sample two types of truffles. I did not eat a single Carmel, almond filled chocolate!!! I did not eat a single chocolate or treat period.
After See's and some shopping my mom, sisters and I hit a new frozen yogurt shop. I found that the yogurt parlors have enough fresh fruit that they use as mix in's, for a delicious fruit salad. Once again I conquered my never ending sweet tooth!!!
Today is the 5th day of my treat free adventure and I must say I already feel so much better!! I can tell a difference in my energy levels and I do not have the headaches that I always got after eating to much sugar. I can also tell a huge difference in my running. Yesterday I had the best 14 mile run!!!
I dare say I am actually enjoying being treat free!! Here is to day 5!!

Day 2
The sugar free pizza was a hit!! Aaron (not knowing that I switched the sugar for agave nectar) said it was my best pizza yet. It was pretty yummy if I do say so myself. I simply switched the 1 T of sugar for 1T of agave nectar and the 2 T of oil for 2 T of all natural applesauce. A small and simple change. I am lactose intolerant so I make my pizza with all veggies and pizza sauce NO cheese. It is one of my favorite things to eat! So if you also love pizza but hate the normal fat and calories that come with it here is a yummy and healthier way to make it:
1 C plus 2T of water
2 T all natural applesauce (no sugar added. read the label)
3 C of flour ( you may use wheat if you would like. I have to use white do to a sensitive stomach)
1T of honey or agave nectar
1 tsp of salt
2 1/2 tsp of dry yeast
Top with favorite topping and bake at 350 for about 25 minutes

Day one
Day one down only 99 more to go. Today was great!! With the help of a little flu bug I did not Even want to look at anything sweet. I am excited and motivated (and over the flu)! My sister Cathy has decided to join the team and will be living treat free all the way from Texas! Welcome aboard Cathy!
I did the math last night as I made my 100 day calender, it looks like December 3rd is the 100th day!! Right now I am focusing on baby steps. My goal is to make it to day 30. On day 30 all of us working on this lifestyle changing goal will get a pedicure or I may swap and go tanning. Something fun, relaxing and very rewarding to look forward to and to help keep our eyes on the prize.
I am excited for tomorrow nights dinner. I will be making homemade pizza but will be using honey instead of sugar in the dough. I already use all natural applesauce instead of oil and can't wait to swap out the sugar. I will let you know how it turns out.
Good luck with day number 2 :)

Here we go
Hello, my name is MaryAnne and I am a sugar aholic. It has been only 10 minutes since my last sugar binge. I am ready for a change. I woke up this morning with a hangover or at least I imagine that is what a hangover must feel like. My head was pounding, my eyes were swollen and puffy, my stomach roaring. All this nastiness because I could not resist eating an embarrassing obscene amount of sugar right before I went to bed. I have a problem when it comes to treats. I can't stop at just one or at just 5 for that matter.
I could go on and on for hours about my inability to put down a treat and walk away. Instead I am just going to tell you how I am going to change. Starting tomorrow August 25 I going to go 100 days with out treats. I am excited for this little adventure. I have a couple of friends also embarking on this sugar free journey with me, that I am sure you will be hearing from along the way.
We will be posting new recipes and tricks that we find to help us kick our sugar addiction for good. I am almost 32 years old and am ready to eat and act like it.
If you have any yummy and healthy recipes you would be willing to share please e-mail them to 100sugarfree@gmail.com!! So here we go 100 days!!!
